“Unlawful and corrupt empowerment and enrichment of Elon Musk” Impeach Trump Campaign Adds New Grounds for Impeachment Investigation

WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 4, 2025) – Impeach Trump, a nonpartisan campaign led by Free Speech For People, announced today a new justification for launching an impeachment investigation against President Trump: the alleged "unlawful and corrupt empowerment and enrichment of Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)."

The campaign is urging Congress to scrutinize the process by which Musk was granted authority, alongside investigating his abuses of power and emolument violations as the head of DOGE. According to the campaign, DOGE has been operating without any congressional oversight, allowing Musk and his associates access to sensitive personal and financial data held by the Department of Treasury, in clear violation of federal law. Furthermore, Musk is accused of receiving unconstitutional emoluments through lucrative government contracts with his companies.

Since its launch on Inauguration Day, the campaign has received nearly 200,000 petition signatures supporting the impeachment inquiry into a series of alleged offenses by Trump, which include violations of the Emoluments Clauses, corrupt campaign practices, and numerous abuses of executive power.
